V O R T E X

V O R T E X is a somatic exploration audio visual installation diving into our connection with the element of water.

The work has been presented as 1 channel sonic and video installation in frame of solo expositions during InShadow festival, at Galeria FBAUL, Lisbon + at Casa del Pittore, Mantova

“A key element is water, an original and generative symbol that accompanies the visitor on a journey combining birth, transformation, and memory.
From the images of water, the viewer gradually moves toward the fertile density of the earth, where life and death coexist without opposition. Finally, the itinerary leads to mountains, spaces of freedom and guardians of the world’s memory.
Rivers and glaciers become metaphors for cyclicity and transformation, restoring to the viewer the sense of a vital, dynamic nature charged with energy.
In Hackl’s works, landscapes such as cliffs, forests, and glaciers become mirrors of the soul, traces of an invisible bond between inner dimension and natural environment.
Soul Scapes is not only a photographic exhibition but an immersive experience that invites visitors to rediscover their belonging to a broader landscape, in constant transformation—like the water that flows through it.”

Voce di Mantova, review

“On all of these shores there are echoes of the past and future: of the flow of time, obliterating yet containing all that has gone before; o the sea’s eternal rhythms – the tides, the beat of surf, the pressing river of currents – shaping, changing, dominating, the stream of life, flowing as exorantly as any ocean current, from past to unknown future” – Virginia Woolf

When I speak of fluidity, I am also referring to the idea that what we call “body” is a profound orchestration of many qualities and textures of movement – interpenetrating tones of fertile play waiting to be incubated.

What I see as “body” is the movement of creative flux, waves of fertility. The cosmic play that we carry into this atmosphere still intrinsically pulsates.

We can be seen as a fluid unfolding of an innate intelligence.

The human body has been spiralled from the vortical tendency of living water, an extension of the primordial ocean, appearing separate but maintaining constant resonance. We are in perpetual rapport with all fluid systems, functioning as an undivided whole. – Emily Conrad

I LIVE, I DIE, THE SEA COMES OVER ME, IT’S THE BLUE THAT LASTS

– Virginia Woolf

AND IN ME TOO A WAVE RISES

– Virginia Woolf
