SILENT FRAGMENTS is a dancefilm by and with Andrea Hackl who cherishes the potential of visual composition within the medium of dance film and installation. The essential role of “lighting” is equally central in her installation and performative work. As in the tradition of Expressionism, dance film is an expression of a soul landscape for her, of processes which are happening within our psyche.
SILENT FRAGMENTS takes the human body as map and landscape formed by our psychology, as an ocean of emotions and memories. The work is inspired by the intrinsic connection between body and psyche and the fluidity of the body. And within this primordial fluidity, in this inner ocean, lays a potential of transformation and change.
This film is a very personal and intimate work of the artist who is very inspired by rituals, the theme of catharsis as well as rite of passage, processes which have individual but equally collective meaning. It is an intimate view into a moment of letting go, surrender and the transformations that becomes possible/

SILENT FRAGMENTS ist ein Tanzfilm von und mit Andrea Hackl, die seit Beginn ihrer Karriere als Taenzerin, Choreographin und Videokuenstlerin international arbeitet.
Sie hat im Medium des Tanzfilms eine Moeglichkeit gefunden, staerker als auf der Buehne, mit ihrer Leidenschat fuer visuelle Komposition zu arbeiten (e.g. Die Rolle des Lichts als auch ein Spiel mit Projektionen sind ebenfalls in ihrer performativen Arbeit zentral.) Wie etwa im Experessionismus, ist der Tanzfilm fuer Sie der Ausdruck einer Seelenlandschaft, von Prozessen, die in unserer Psyche stattfinden.
SILENT FRAGMENTS befasst sich mit dem Koerper als Landschaft, Universum und Ozean von Erinnerungen. Der Film ist von der Fluiditaet unseres Koerpers inspiriert als auch der essenziellen Verbindung zwischen Koerper und Psyche. Es ist eine sehr persoenliche und intime Arbeit der Kuenstlerin, in deren Arbeiten Rituale, Uebergangsriten (Rite of Passage) und Katharsis oft zentral stehen – Prozesse, die individuelle als auch kollektive Bedeutung haben. Eine Momentaufnahme des Loslassens und des damit verbundenen Wandels.
